Will Israel Blow Up Something and Falsely Blame It On Iran?

Washington’s Blog – Sept 27, 2012

According to U.S. officials, Israel is training and supporting Iranian terrorists who are trying to topple the Iranian government. Those Israeli-funded terrorists have faked documents to falsely indicate that Iran is building a nuclear bomb. 1

Israel has admitted to previous use of false flag attacks to justify war against Middle Eastern nations.

For example, Israel admits that an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind “evidence” implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers, and several of the Israelis later confessed) (and see thisand this).

Numerous high-level government officials have warned that a false flag may be launched against Iran to start a war: 2

§           Former National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski (who helped to create Al Qaeda to fight the soviets in Afghanistan) told the Senate that a terrorist act might be carried out in the U.S. and falsely blamed on Iran to justify war against that nation.

§           Daniel Ellsberg – the famous Pentagon Papers whistle blower – said if there is another terror attack, “I believe the president will get what he wants”, which includes war with Iran

§           Robert David Steele – a 20-year Marine Corps infantry and intelligence officer, the second-ranking civilian in U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence, and former CIA clandestine services case officer – says that elements within the U.S. government are trying to carry out a false flag operation and blame it on Iran

§           Former high-level CIA officer Michael Scheuer – who was the head of the CIA unit tasked with capturing Bin Laden – says that Israel or Saudi Arabia could be setting up Iran as a way to foment war 3

§           Ron Paul has warned of a “Gulf of Tonkin type incident” in Iran

§           Pulitzer-prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh says many ideas have been proposed for provoking a war, including building boats that look like Iranian boats, and then putting Navy Seals on them to “start a shoot-up”

§           The highly influential Brookings Institution wrote a report in 2009 called “Which Path to Persia?” which states (pages 84-85):

It would be far more preferable if the United States could cite an Iranian provocation as justification for the airstrikes before launching them. Clearly, the more outrageous, the more deadly, and the more unprovoked the Iranian action, the better off the United States would be.Of course, it would be very difficult for the United States to goad Iran into such a provocation without the rest of the world recognizing this game, which would then undermine it. (One method that would have some possibility of success would be to ratchet up covert regime change efforts in the hope that Tehran would retaliate overtly, or even semi-overtly, which could then be portrayed as an unprovoked act of Iranian aggression.)

§           A member of the British Parliament stated that “there is a very real danger” that the American government will stage a false flag terror attack in order to justify war against Iran

§           A number of very high-level former intelligence officers – including several that personally briefed presidents every day on matters of national security – stated that better communications between the U.S. and Iran were needed to “reduce the danger of … covert, false-flag attack”

One of America’s top constitutional and military law experts – Jonathan Turley – writes today:

Many critics have argued that there is a concerted effort to push the United States into a war with Iran by supporters of Israel. Patrick Clawson, director of research for the highly influential pro-Israel Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) think tank, seemed intent to prove those rumors true this week in comments as a luncheon on “How to Build US-Israeli Coordination on Preventing an Iranian Nuclear Breakout.” Clawson casually discusses how to create a false flag operation to push the U.S. into war to overcome any reluctance by the public. We have been discussing how many leaders like Senator Joe Lieberman had begun to use the same rhetoric that led to the last two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and how the suggest timing of an attack has been tied to the presidential election.

In his remarks, Clawson helpfully lists a series of historical events used to push the country into war like the Gulf of Tonkin incident that gave us the Vietnam War. Clawson expressed his frustration in acknowledging that it is “[v]ery hard for me to see how the United States President can get us to war with Iran.” However, there is hope. Clawson explains that the “traditional way” to get the country into a war is through false flags or manufactured incidents where Americans are killed. Thus, he observes, “we are in the game of using covert means against the Iranians, we could get nastier about it. So, if in fact the Iranians aren’t going to compromise, it would be best if somebody else started the war.”

The fact that one of the leading analysis for the WINEP would feel comfortable in making such comments is itself quite chilling. It indicates that such discussions have become sufficiently regular that it has creeped into public discussion. It is a measure of the secret pressure building to push this country into a third major war despite our crippling economic conditions and losses in military personnel. The assumption in Washington is that neither Romney nor Obama could oppose such a war. Even if Obama does not publicly support Israel, the assumption is that political allies of Israel in Washington can guarantee that we would offer extensive military loans and intelligence. Even if there is a delay in such military loans and support, the assumption is that Israel can go to war with the understanding that the United States will cover a significant portion of the costs. Moreover, in his remarkably candid remarks, Clawson shows how the U.S. can easily be forced into direct combat by pushing Iran to simply kill some Americans or sink a few of our ships. Then members would be clamoring for revenge. Notably, the Israelis have been ratcheting up the war rhetoric in pushing Iran, which predictably has now reserved the right to engage in a preemptive strike not just against Israeli but U.S. interests. We would then, again, find ourselves in a war without any public debate or collective decision.

While Clawson adds a passing caveat that he is not advocating such an approach, his remarks are clearly designed to show how the group can get the United States into a war for Israel if only we can get Iran to kill some of our citizens or soldiers. Those people are of course expendable props in Clawson’s realpolitik.

By the way, Clawson has been enlisted to give his insightful analysis at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. He is also a member of the National Defense University’s Institute for National Strategic Studies. The World Bank connection is particularly interesting given the history with Paul Wolfowitz who pushed the U.S. into two disastrous wars in the Bush Administration and was rewarded with being made the head of the World Bank.

It is the callous disconnect that is most chilling in these remarks. Thousands of U.S. soldiers have died or have been crippled for life in these wars that have left the country near bankruptcy (and increasingly hostile “allies” in Afghanistan and Iraq). Those casualties and costs, however, appear immaterial in the discussion of supporting Israel in a war against Iran.

1 Top American and Israeli military and intelligence officials actually say that:

§           Iran has not decided to build a nuclear bomb

§           Even if Iran did build a nuclear bomb – it would not be that dangerous, because Israel and America have so many more nukes. And see this

§           Attacking Iran would only speed up its development of nuclear weapons, empower its hardliners, and undermine the chance for democratic reform

2 False flag attacks have been carried out against Iran in the past. For example, the CIA admits that it hired Iranians in the 1950′s to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected prime minister

3 Saudi Arabia has also been supporting terrorists

Merlin Miller – The Ugly Truth September 20, 2012

I contemplate my recent trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran and ask myself who wants war between America and Iran. I quickly surmise that it is not the American people, nor the Iranian people, but globalists (international bankers and their multinational beneficiaries). They control Israel, the American media and most of our politicians…and by extension our foreign policy.
My journey to this exotic and little understood land began with an invitation to “New Horizon – The First International Independent Filmmakers Festival”. It was a conference and festival held in Tehran from September 2nd through September 7th. Filmmakers and intellectuals from around the world attended. It was one of the most stimulating experiences that I have ever had and an effective bridge between diverse cultures and perspectives – with the purpose of promoting truth, justice, liberty, and peace.
This initiative was undertaken, not by America or other world leaders, but by a country unfairly besieged with sanctions and threats of war. My observations were in stark contrast to the perceptions of most Americans. What I experienced was a devout country with a love of God, family, and nation – and an uncompromising respect for the noblest of human endeavors.
As I write this, a giant, beautiful book, Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, lies next to me. Khayyam’s wonderful poems have survived the test of time and are a testament to the normally peaceful spirit of the Persian people. This treasure was given to me by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Inside its back cover, he inscribed the following for me (transcribed from Farsi):

In the name of God who loves human beings.

My dear brother:
I, you, we and all of us are pursuing truth and happiness for human beings, which is unfortunately a victim of world powers.
This is a historical opportunity to undermine all inhuman relations and put an end to prejudices, which have questioned the truths and separates them, to build a new beautiful world based on love, justice and beauty.
This is a historical and certainly achievable objective. It only needs our hands, minds and hearts to join each other.
I pray Great God to bless you, who love humanity and wish success for all. I hope to meet you in a better future.

M. Ahmadinejad
September 8, 2012

I found President Ahmadinejad to be a humble man with a firm handshake and intense, intelligent eyes. Despite his courteous and dignified bearing, he has been regularly berated, and routinely misrepresented, by a controlled western media. Is their demonization justified, or has he been targeted as the lone political figure standing against Zionist powers? This is my attempt to represent truths, such that the world might have a better understanding of Iran, its people, and its leadership.
The Iranian people are similar to Europeans in appearance…a beautiful people, poised and kind. Their women wear clothing which modestly cover them, but in elegant fashion and with serene faces that are usually exposed. They return smiles and are not treated as second class citizens, as we have been conditioned to believe. In fact, they outnumber men in higher education enrollments. There is no profanity and women are safe on any Tehran street – at any time of day or night. The influences of western civilization have not been totally removed, but the Iranians resist the decadence of cultural-Marxism. I attribute this largely to their faith and love of family. I was surprised to discover that the Islamic faith actually honors Jesus and Christianity. However, through Zionist media control, policy dictates, and other manipulations, the Christian world is incessantly convinced that Muslims should be our enemies and that we should be theirs.
Muslims look with jaundiced eye upon the outrageous media lies and perpetual assaults on their faith and culture. Hollywood’s promotion of twisted films can provoke extremist reactions, and we are then led to believe that Muslims are all radicals. We never question the bizarre promotion of these divisive, Zionist inspired productions, or the actions of multinational interests in the internal affairs of sovereign Islamic nations. Were we to look honestly at the many false portrayals, we would see remarkable similarities to how our Christian communities have also been assaulted – increasingly with contempt and disrespect by these same Zionist and Cultural Marxist propagandists. They seek a globalist new world order – devoid of the diversity and freedoms associated with independent nation states.
As I wandered from the festival grounds to meet people on the streets, I found them to be most helpful and without animosity – despite my obvious American nationality. I enjoyed their exotic food and came to appreciate the craftsmanship of their products. The only negative sensation that I had was in witnessing the mad house traffic situation in Tehran. A city of 15 million, it has grown faster that it’s infrastructure. Despite this, the city is thriving with new construction and beautiful parks and monuments – which reflect a noble and accomplished people. The Iranians seemingly love Americans, but are rightly concerned and critical of our irrational and invasive government policies. The common response seems to be “why would your country want to attack us?”
The current condemnation of Iran is supposedly due to the possibility that they may develop nuclear weapons. We should all work for a world free from nuclear threat, but the sovereignty of nations must also be respected. Iran is signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and has opened their facilities for inspection, declaring their interest is for energy development only. No evidence to the contrary has been shown, and Iran’s Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Khamenei condemns nuclear weaponry – actually declaring a “Fatwa” against them – as it is contrary to their nation’s faith. However, Israel, their chief accuser (and architect behind the campaign to falsely accuse Iraq of possessing “weapons of mass destruction”), is believed to possess over 300 nuclear weapons. Israel is not signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and has no intention of sharing information or opening their facilities for inspection – yet America continues to march to their fanatical war drums against others. Why is there no pressure on Israel to meet the same standards and why are we imposing “sanctions” against a nation that has done us no wrong? It is a preliminary act of war, and only imposed because Israeli lobbies demand it of our lap-dog politicians, who incredibly serve Zionist interests rather than the American people.
Iran is a strategic rival for regional hegemony in the resource rich middle-east and has stood strong for Islamic unity. They also courageously and most justifiably call for an end to the Palestinian occupation – the ruthless suppression of an enslaved people, largely funded by America. There is no greater injustice than that being perpetrated against the Palestinian people. World condemnation, through the United Nations is consistently blocked by U.S. actions on the Security Council. As a result, the Non Aligned Nations Movement (NAM) is growing as an alternative to the UN. Its recent success is not generally reported in Western media, but 120 nations came together in Tehran the week before the New Horizon Film Festival – in unity and in opposition to the evils of the Israeli occupation of Palestine. The Secretary General of the United Nations even attended, as well as observers from Russia and China. The Palestinian occupation and Israeli aggressions (including “false flag” operations against other nations) are at the root of the discontents for Zionism.
As President Ahmadinejad gave me copy of Khayyam’s works, I gave him copy of my western motion picture, “Jericho”, and my political book, “Our Vision for America”. When I asked him what messages I might convey to the American people, he indicated “truths” and “Iran’s desire for peace”. Through lies and evil acts, Globalists and Zionists falsely portray Iran, as they seek conflict between nations. I later told him that our State Department should be meeting with Iran’s leaders and not depending on the initiatives of private citizens, like me. However, I hope that he and the Iranian people take hope in the prospect that many patriotic Americans are awakening to the evils that have consumed us, even while our politicians continue to betray the otherwise good spirit and traditions of the American people. Growing numbers seek answers that might save America and truly promote world peace.
Americans do not want war, and are beginning to realize that our politicians, of both major parties, initiate these actions against the wishes of the American people – and in accord with the intrigues of international bankers and their Zionist agents. It is time we stopped them by creating alternatives in politics, and in media. Iran sees the need and is taking appropriate initiatives, and so should America.
I went to Iran to promote the prospects for producing “False Flag”, a critically important motion picture. I returned to America more committed than ever to produce this political thriller and, through commercial entertainment, help awaken a sleeping America. Vital truths must be revealed so that new evils are not perpetrated against the people of America and Iran, with destructive effects resonating throughout the world. I also return committed to building a viable third party, which will represent traditional working class Americans, rather than perpetuating a corrupt two party system, which serves special global interests. God willing, my answer to the courageous efforts of President Ahmadinejad is “I also hope to meet you in a better future”.

Unplugging the New World Odor

September 22, 2012

Yogis say suffering is due to seeking happiness outside ourselves. The quest for happiness is often the source of unhappiness.

by Henry Makow Ph.D.

(Slightly revised from 14/6/09.)

If there were a webcam in the Monkey House at the local zoo, would you watch it?

Then, why watch TV or go to the movies? Why cruise the Internet or listen to most music? It’s the same thing as watching the chest pounding, screeching, defecating and copulating of monkeys. Of course humans outdo monkeys with mindless killing and mayhem.

If not a Monkey House, then the world increasingly resembles a hive which, thanks to the mass media, vibrates at the same frequency. For example, when the stock market is plummeting, everyone is panicking. (When Money is God, an economic downturn becomes a spiritual crisis.)

But there are other causes for the gloom: the spreading knowledge that our institutions  (government, media, education, religion etc.)  have been subverted and society now has no way of self-correcting.

The world feels like a roller coaster; we are holding on for dear life. Perhaps we need to let go. Perhaps we need to vibrate at our own unique frequency.

Perhaps I would be more effective if I devoted more energy to my private life. The external world is negating my private world even though it hasn’t physically impinged on it yet. I have impoverished myself by my constant focus on the Monkey House. I don’t think I am alone in this.

Our minds are like blotters, hoping to find a reflection of our ideals in the world. We need to turn the mirror around so the back faces the world. We need to use our personal lives (not the world) to reflect our ideals.

I envy people who can make God, Jesus or Mohamed the focus of all their thoughts. I often resolve to read the lives and saying of mystics. Clearly I need another focus. Family. Sports. A hobby.

Feeling fatigued recently, I resolved to unplug the world for 24 hours. I would be a Robinson Crusoe of the island of soul. I put on a Gregorian chant and tried to meditate. It’s all about where we direct our attention minute-by-minute. I would focus on God. Order. Peace. Truth. Sanity.  A calm came over me.

At the same time,  temptations made me realize how I am addicted to my computer terminal. From that monitor l satisfy all my lusts. Down that chute come the niblets of news, emails, book sales, stock quotes etc.  Yogis say suffering is due to seeking happiness outside ourselves. The pursuit of happiness is often the source of unhappiness.

Yet, that’s all we do: manipulate the world to make us feel good. When will we realize we cannot feel good unless we are good?

How we hate to be alone. That’s why we are constantly talking on cell phones or watching TV. Why do we self-evade? As Paul Elmer More said, “we exhaust a great effort and expense to be poorly entertained.”

Let’s enjoy our selves.

After about four hours of meditating, I felt quite detached and refreshed, and started to get bored. So I broke down and checked my e-mail and the latest headlines. (I want to be in the world but not of it. I don’t want to be adrift between two worlds.)

If we are engaged in a spiritual war, perhaps detaching from the world for set periods of time is the way to fight it. They seem to keep us in a state of high anxiety. They have been promising to invade Iran for six years. Is this the real agenda — to keep us at the edge of our seats?

I’m going to continue to fight the good fight. But maybe I can  win a partial victory  if I don’t let the enemy into my home and heart.

Jewish New Year: We Are back in 1947!

Jewish New Year looks like an END instead of a Renewal…

On September 17 and 18, 2012, Israel and the Jews celebrate the New Year, Rosh HaShana. Few would guess that such a trivial topic is at the heart of a religious struggle. Even among themselves, the Jews cannot agree on a single date for the event. Jewish traditions recognize four New Year’s Eves on every year. The commonest is Rosh HaShana (“Head of the Year” in Hebrew), which is celebrated the first day of the month of Tishrei, in September or October. The Gregorian date changes because the Hebrew calendar is lunar in nature, meaning it wobbles in cycles of 19 years. The oddest one is Tu Bishvat (literally “15th of Shvat”), the “The New Year of the Trees.” It is said from that date onwards, trees feed on the rains of the current year, rather that on undeground water reserves. The other two are celebrated in the months of Nissan and Elul, near Passover and Rosh HaShana respectively. While searching for a topic suitable for this year event, I found that this Jewish New Year looks like an end instead of a renewal…

Israel’s Foggy New Year

Israel’s Foggy New Year

Back in Entebbe

Entebbe Airport

Entebbe Airport

Israel’s Prime Minister was the best source to search for an inspirational message for this New Year. Unluckily, Benjamin Netanyahu is a limited type of leader. Give him a tiny military event like Operation Entebbe and he shines; give him a strategic theatre and he becomes a hesitating patsy of his American supporters. In recent months, Netanyahu kept warning that time is running out for an attack on Iran; pretty soon all nuclear installations of the latter country would be utterly protected against bombings. This mantra must be seen in the context that this year, Netanyahu will face elections. He is bound to win them; however, Minister of Defense Ehud Barak has no chance of keeping his position unless he conducts a successful war before the elections.

The most catastrophic event in the history of the State of Israel—an event that almost for sure will bring its end—is about to be decided by two ego-manic former-Sayeret-Matkal-officers seeking re-election. This is a no-return decision. Once Israel strikes, Iran will retaliate. Both sides agree that there are roughly 200,000 missiles aimed at Israel and not enough anti-missiles weapons to stop them.

If Netanyahu decides on such an attack, it probably won’t be conducted along the lines published by mainstream media. Israel has only one strike opportunity. An air attack is improbable; the flight time of planes is so long that they can be easily intercepted. A few months ago, Israel reported that Iran Hit an American Satellite. If true, the same weapon can be adapted against planes. An attack by Israel with Jericho missiles is more probable. However, in both scenarios targeting all the relevant military installations would be impossible in the actual parameters of the conflict. Instead, Israel will attempt a decapitation of the Iranian regime. The retaliatory answer by Iran is unlikely to leave anything of what is usually referred to as State of Israel. Netanyahu couldn’t provide inspirational renewal this year.

Palestine to Revoke Oslo Agreements

At the beginning of 2012, I published Will Abbas Dismantle the Palestinian Authority?, where I analyzed reports from the Palestinian Authority that claimed the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was about to send a letter to Israel announcing the dismantlement of the Palestinian Authority due to the Israeli violations of the Oslo Agreements. The step made sense, and would have opened the way to deal with the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Eventually this didn’t materialize; however, this New Year’s Eve, the topic was revived.

On September 18, the London-based Arab newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that the Secretary General of the PLO’s Executive Committee Yasser Abed Rabbo said that the Palestinian President is considering presenting the PLO’s Executive Committee with a proposal to unilaterally annul the Oslo Agreements after the upcoming UN General Assembly session in New York. That session will take place next week in New York. In parallel, Abbas sent Happy New Year’s greetings to Israel. Who said he doesn’t have a sense of humor?

Germany’s Special Gift

In the last year, the relations between Germany and Israel had been complicated. Both countries signed several agreements that would enlarge Israel’s submarine fleet to nine boats by the end of this year (see Six Million Submarines and Six Million Ships). However, after Germany tried to force Israel to behave humanly towards the Palestinians, Israel publicly humiliated Germany. The saga continued with two very clear German answers. First, it announced it would supply Pakistan with submarines, thus creating a new nuclear front in the Middle East. However, as a special gift for the New Year, Germany announced that it also would supply Egypt’s new regime—closely affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood—with two Type 209 attack submarines. On September 16, German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere told the Frankfurter Rundschau “No country in the world has the right of veto to decisions taken by the German government,” while admitting that Egypt was “not as stable as he would like.” Happy New year Israel!

Iran’s Special Gift

Given the ongoing belligerent Israeli rhetoric towards Iran, the latter was unlikely not to send a special New Year’s gift to the Zionist micro-empire. On September 18, the Chief of Islamic Republic’s Naval Forces announced that it had successfully repaired and launched its Tareq 901 submarine, despite the fact that Moscow insisted it be repaired in Russia. The submarine was reintroduced along with a Sahand Destroyer, as per the instructions of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. A few days before that, Iranian media claimed that Tehran is about to unveil a new type of independently-produced long-range cruise missile, which could be launched from land, sea, and air. Probably this is related to the new destroyer and sub. In other words, Iran announced to Israel that it is too late for any Israeli attack.

Rosh HaShana Blessing

The picture is clear. It is so clear, that Israel’s candidate for the USA Presidency—Mitt Romney—said during a private fund-raiser that the “Middle East Peace Process was likely to remain an unsolved problem.” The private message was soon afterwards leaked to mainstream media. Instead of facing a year of renewal and prosperity, Israel has been kicked back to 1947 and is struggling for its independence. As it looks now, this time the result would be different.

Happy (Last?) New Year Israel!

The IRS – “Internal Reality Service”

September 17, 2012

(Bradley Birkenfeld, left, got $104 million for squealing on his ex-employer to the IRS.)

Democracy and nationhood are a charade. The IRS is a private collection agency. It reflects our true status in life: interest-bearing cattle & collateral for the Judeo Masonic (Illuminati) central banking cartel.

by Henry Makow Ph.D.

This story caught my eye last week.

Bradley Birkenfeld, 47, a former Union Bank of Switzerland employee secured a whistle-blower award of $104 million, “the largest individual federal payout in U.S. history.”

Bradley Birkenfeld, 47, worked at the largest Swiss bank for five years.

He told authorities how UBS bankers courted rich Americans, managed $20 billion of their assets and helped them cheat the IRS.

The “largest individual federal payout in US history.”  That got my attention. The federal government is never that generous!  That’s when I found this excellent reminder  that despite what Bloomberg News wants you to believe, the IRS is not the federal government:

“You might think that the I.R.S. is owned by our government.  A branch that collects taxes from the citizens in order to fund our government.  If you think that, you would be wrong.

The I.R.S. is owned by entities outside our country,  and by its operation is a collection agency for the Federal Reserve.  As you may know, the Federal Reserve is not a governmental agency, but it is a private bank [i.e. Rothschilds, Warburgs etc.  ] that lends our government money.  Our tax money is collected by the I.R.S. and sent directly to the Federal Reserve banking system.

Our government is financed much in the same way as you might finance your home.  The politicians spend so much money that there is no way that the taxes collected would be enough to pay for all their activities.  So, they borrow money from the banking cartels, and they tell the banking cartels that they can go get the money from the citizens.

We the people, our labors, our person, is then owned by the banking cartels just as your home us actually owned by the mortgage company.  Don’t pay your mortgage payment and you’ll quickly see who really owns your home.

Don’t pay your taxes and the I.R.S. has the “right” to garnish your wages and freeze your accounts.  That is because our government sold us to the banking cartels as collateral many years ago.  We are property used as collateral for the loans that our politicians take out against us.  We are slaves – literally.

When you see how things actually operate, you can begin to see how these enterprises operate much like organized crime.  The government is the enforcement division, the I.R.S. is the collection division, and the big banks are for money laundering.

Unfortunately all of the money collected goes only to interest payments against the HUGE debt (loans) that our politicians have taken out against us.  They keep spending and we keep paying.  Illegal as it is, they have the bigger guns.

Illegal scams like our government have come and gone throughout the ages.  Just before we won our independence from Great Britain, we were subject that were required to pay exorbitant taxes to the monarchy.  We were not represented, and so “taxation without representation” was the phrase of the day.  That led to the Boston tea party, and the rest is history.”

When the author says “the government is the enforcement division,” he is really referring to the “Department of Homeland Security.” The central bankers know they have to establish a fascist state in order to ensure their “debt” gets paid. They are behind 9-11 and the whole “war on terror” ruse which are pretexts to establish a police state.

All countries are “indebted” to the same clique, so they plan to merge them into a thinly disguised totalitarian one world government. Until the general population recognizes the real enemy, society is at war against itself.  For example, all foreign wars are contrived to weaken, impoverish and distract.

They finance the Taliban so we can have a state of perpetual war. (In World Wars One, and Two, they found ways to fund Germany.)

Our political, economic and cultural leaders (i.e. education & the media) serve the debt holders, who unfortunately are satanists. We are like Stockholm Syndrome hostages hoping to be unharmed if we play nice.

Indeed, it is possible for individuals to thrive under these circumstances, and hope the day of reckoning is postponed. Society has proven incapable of  resistance because all the power is in the hands of collaborators. We are a colony where the citizens don’t even know they have been colonized.

Arab Spring Pays Back in Dollars

Arabs Answer American Violence

Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom of Justice and Light. The kings served there in periods of four years and insisted on being called “Mr. President.” That was true until the year 2000, when the son of a former king was chosen to office by the voice of a single Justice who had been appointed by his father. From that moment onwards, it had become pretty close to a formal kingdom. Yet, they didn’t define themselves as such; they claimed that they were the world’s most powerful country, and prided themselves on their democracy. They weren’t exactly a democracy of the people; they left such a title to backward countries like North Korea. They were a democracy of corporations. These organizations were recognized by the kingdom as judicial persons, and were those guiding and funding the government’s behavior. Many of these soulless persons were rather innocent, busying themselves in the science of preparation of greasy hamburgers and similarly useless tasks. However, the largest and most powerful among them made money out of war. For over half a century they had run amok around the globe attacking any target they knew would not react. This created jobs at home and kept the powerful military busy and happy. Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom of Justice and Light; of course, it wasn’t exactly a kingdom, justice was reserved to corporations, and the only lights were the interrogation lamps constantly aimed at the people by their paranoiac, illegitimate government. Once upon a time, this looked like an unbeatable scheme; then, things changed.

Two Wars

Ambassador Christopher Stevens

USA Ambassador Christopher Stevens
Killed in Libya

A few years ago, I read an article claiming that the current century would also be an “American Century.” The statistics supporting this are amazing; since its foundation, the USA has fought over 500 wars (see American Led Apocalypse). The USA is beyond any doubt the most violent country in human history. This new and brave “American Century” begun accordingly with two major wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan. On paper, both were American victories on the meek. Yet, on September 4, 2012, The New York Times, reported “Iran has resumed shipping military equipment to Syria over Iraqi airspace” (see Eastern Limit of Western Power). Iran’s capability of doing so was the direct result of the American attack on Iraq, which left the latter without an air force. Slowly, the American victory on Iraq is turning out to be something different. Of course, the American Administration would be the last organization on the planet to admit that.

In Afghanistan, American got luckier. They completed a survey that had been initiated in the 19th century by Russians and Britons during the Great Game, and discovered huge reserves of rare earth elements (for details see USA answers Europe Attempt to Secure Rare Earth Elements and Hidden Rare Earth Elements War Heats Up). American corporations and their puppet-regime in Kabul are planning their exploitation; accordingly, the USA is unlikely to leave Afghanistan until the ores are taken away. I have no doubt the USA would be utterly surprised to find that as soon as they begin robbing the ores from the Afghani people, a new guerrilla war will erupt. Soon afterwards, Americans will begin missing the Taliban regime.

The two first major wars of this century clearly sign this century won’t be an American one. Both are widely considered illegitimate and have damaged American position. The third war confirmed that.

The Third War

CNN in Spanish is unwatchable. It inherited the slightly propagandistic style of its English Big Brother. This could be bearable on small amounts. However, when combined with the weirdest anchors on earth the effect is grotesque. Why should an anchor shout? Why should another one triplicate every “r” he founds along the way? (Afterwards he stops for a sec, to let the audience enjoy the effect). Yet, while in Bolivia this is my most direct access to American mainstream media. In the aftermath of the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, I watched the CNN. “Just this tiny item,” I promised myself, feeling slightly nauseous. It paid off immediately.

“They didn’t shoot the ambassador. He was safe. He suffocated to death.” This is the summary of the silly analysis offered by a Spanish-speaking American; during his speech, the anchor kept distracting the audience with unlikely antics. The American was trying to diminish the success of the attack. Bizarre on the verge of self-delusional, the CNN failed to mention that Benghazi had been the first conquest of the mercenaries that had ousted Kaddafi. Even the term “Arab Spring,” the formal name of the third major war of this century was barely mentioned. Make no mistake; this is a major war, despite its feeble results. Rulers were changed in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen. Egypt is the clearest failure. The revolution there led to the exchange of Mubarak—an American puppet—by President Mohamed Morsi, who is affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood. Mass protests took place in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, and Sudan; minor ones in Lebanon, Mauritania, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, and Western Sahara. The instigators of the events were hit back almost immediately—in Egypt—and are about to be hit again in other locations.

There is no doubt that the “Arab Spring” is a string of carefully coordinated attacks by the Americans on the Arab World. It has been denounced so repeatedly by Russia and China, which had provided plenty of proofs, including convincing testimony of made-up events and photographs by the American media. Not only the Western media ignores these accusations, but it also misleads the public. In the specific case of Libya, it presented the revolution as a popular uprising against Kaddafi.

In February 2011, we were told by Western media that the Arab Spring had reached Libya. However, those paying attention to details, noticed something odd in the reports: the so called “popular protests” began by a group of mercenaries taking control of Benghazi, near the Egyptian border. They have entered Libya from Egypt. In May the rebels took the city of Misrata and things began looking bad for Muammar Kaddafi’s government. On, August 23, the rebels took control Bab al-Aziziya, the government complex in Tripoli. Kaddafi escaped, but shortly after he was caught and assassinated. Instead of a popular rebellion, we watched the advance of an unknown infantry army backed up by the air force of Nato’s Terror Marshals. In the West, the rebels became known as the “National Transitional Council” and were recognized as Libya’s legal government for unclear reasons; after all they have not been elected by the people. Opposing the barbaric attacks of NATO on civilians were China, Russia and Venezuela.

The Third War is a strange one. Aware of being widely recognized as a systemic aggressor by the international community, the USA conducted its latest belligerent project from afar through carefully coordinated forces of mercenaries and NATO. Yet, people know the truth, no matter how much disinformation the CNN bombs us with in the aftermath of NATO bombings. The Arab World understand who is behind the attacks of the last two years.

Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom of Justice and Light. It didn’t offer justice, and the only light it offered was interrogation lamps. For a while it worked and its marshals comfortably conquered and robbed vast parts of the world. Eventually, people woke up. They understood that the American people are not free, and thus cannot possibly be exporting freedom. They understood that the American people are not democratic, and thus cannot possibly be exporting democracy. Regardless the party controlling the White House, America has only one message: war and hatred to anything different. On September 11, 2012, a series of protests against American missions in Egypt and Libya begun and expanded to much of the Arab World. The most violent manifestation was in Benghazi, Libya; it resulted in the death of the American ambassador who was visiting the city. The message was not very subtle: the attack of last year on Libya can be reverted, Benghazi had been the city chosen by the Americans to begin what they have called “popular resistance.” During the Third War, America found a strange reality. It got paid back in dollars, using the same violence it so cherishes.

Are Politicians Psychopaths?

Is Canadian PM Stephen Harper Illuminati or a Fool? Does he not know that this is the Sign of Baphomet?  This picture was taken during his recent tour of Nunavit (in the Arctic.)

Notice the women are giving the sign language for “love” but Harper has his thumb bent over his middle fingers, the sign of Satan.

It’s no secret that politicians can be driven by outsized egos. I mean, who among us really thinks he or she deserves a seat in Congress — or a desk in the Oval Office?

But can egotism alone explain why so many elected officials seem to get caught telling lies, having affairs, committing financial improprieties or engaging in other scandalous behavior? Not everyone is convinced that it can, and some in the blogosphere have gone so far as to wonder if bad-boy (and bad girl) politicians are actually psychopaths. And a recent article in The Atlantic asks of these pundits:

Could they be right? If these pundits mean that the targeted office-seekers are evil or “crazy,” probably not. But if they are pointing out that politicians and psychopaths share certain characteristics, they could be on to something.

Just what does it mean to be a psychopath? Turns out psychopathy isn’t a formal psychiatric diagnosis but a term first popularized by Medical College of Georgia psychiatrist Hervey Cleckley in his 1941 classic The Mask Of Sanity. Psychopaths seem superficially normal but tend to be cold-hearted, lacking in empathy, egocentric, manipulative, irresponsible, and antisocial. Or, as a 2007 Scientific American articleput it:

Superficially charming, psychopaths tend to make a good first impression on others and often strike observers as remarkably normal. Yet they are self-centered, dishonest and undependable, and at times they engage in irresponsible behavior for no apparent reason other than the sheer fun of it… Psychopaths routinely offer excuses for their reckless and often outrageous actions, placing blame on others instead.

Hmm. That description could probably describe more than a few politicians — though you and I might not agree on whom to nominate for psychopath status. But before indulging in any armchair analysis, I reached out to Dr. Martha Stout. A clinical psychologist who was long affiliated with Harvard Medical School, she’s the author of The Sociopath Next Door and other popular books on emotional disorders (including a forthcoming text that explores the link between emotional disorders and politics). By the way, Dr. Stout tends to use the term sociopath instead of psychopath, explaining to me that the terms are often used interchangeably by mental health professionals.

Anyway, when I asked Dr. Stout if there’s any truth to the contention that politicians are more likely to be psychopaths, she said in an email that no solid statistics were available to prove or disprove the hypothesis. Yet despite the lack of proof, she gave a surprisingly definitive answer to my question:

Yes, politicians are more likely than people in the general population to be sociopaths. I think you would find no expert in the field of sociopathy/psychopathy/antisocial personality disorder who would dispute this… That a small minority of human beings literally have no conscience was and is a bitter pill for our society to swallow — but it does explain a great many things, shamelessly deceitful political behavior being one.

At one time, she continued, the terms psychopath and sociopath conjured up image of mass murderers and serial killers. “As it turns out, the majority of sociopaths/psychopaths never kill anyone with their own hands, nor do they end up in prison,” she said. “A smart sociopath can avoid prison and find other, less conspicuous ways to satisfy his or her lust for dominating and controlling others, and what better way than through politics and big business?”

Which politicians deserve to be labeled sociopaths? Dr. Stout was reluctant to name names of living politicos, saying it would be unethical to do so. But she told me in the email, “I think most experts would agree that Hitler, Pol Pot, Nicolae Ceausescu and the like were sociopaths. But a leader certainly does not have to be an infamous dictator to be sociopathic.” In fact, she said, sociopaths often are extremely charismatic. They may not feel “higher emotions” like love and guilt, they may not have actual consciences, but they study those of us who do — and simply pretend.

Some have hypothesized that there are times when we want our leaders to be cold and calculating and even deceitful — for example, in times of crisis or when our national security is at stake. But for the most part, it would seem to me a very bad thing when we elect men and women who feel they can say anything and do anything and damn the consequences.

What’s a concerned citizen to do? Dr. Stout offered a not-so-modest proposal: along with releasing their tax returns and medical records (and, sometimes, birth certificates), maybe political candidates should be asked to prove their psychological fitness before their names go on the ballot. Though psychopaths can apparently fool even skilled psychiatrists into thinking they’re normal, Dr. Stout maintains that standardized psychological tests like the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (and someday maybe brain scans) might be able to tip voters off to candidates who exhibit worrisome personality traits.

“I’m not sure that we will do this,” she said of psychological testing of politicians. “But given the stakes, it might be a decent idea.”

If psychological testing really could distinguish great leaders from destructive creeps, it’s an idea that gets my vote. What do you think? If you’d like to join the discussion, please leave me a comment.

The Gullibility of the Dissident Movement

Post 12 September 2012

By Rebel of Oz

One of my biggest frustrations as a political dissident is the gullibility of my fellow activists. The minute anyone says anything remotely critical of the ‘shitty little country,’ they blindly believe everything else he says. Our ruling parasites and their psychopathic mignons are obviously all too aware of their gullibility. Take for example the current ‘tensions’ between the Obama administration and master terrorist Benjamin Netanyahu. How naive do you have to be to believe for a moment that President Obama would risk upsetting the lobby in an election year?! He’s more likely to get pregnant.

No, what we are dealing with is an elaborate scam to fool the world into believing that the United States won’t be part of an Israeli attack on Iran. While in the past I always discounted the likelihood of such an attack, I am now less convinced. The fact that Obama is risking upsetting Satan’s little helper so close to the presidential elections is a strong indication that he’s planned an attack before the ballot. Once the war is in full motion, all the Jewish voters and media who previously got fooled by his ‘fall-out’ with Netanyahu over the Iran war issue, will be reassured that no-one beats him at putting ‘Israel first.’

But why stressing out the Jews in the first place? Why risk being murdered by an overzealous Zionist. Well, Obama’s dilemma is that he’d probably lose the election, if he simply joint into an unprovoked Israeli attack on Iran. Even a false-flag ‘Iranian’ attack on U.S. assets is too risky, because wide parts of the American public simply wouldn’t believe him.

Obama is not going to fool the Iranians, but that’s not what he’s trying to do. He wants ‘world opinion’, especially in the United States, to believe that the United States are not part of the imminent Israeli attack. That’s obviously nonsense, because there is no way Israel would be able to perform a successful military campaign against Iran without the full financially, logistical, weapon and intelligence support of the United States. One way or another, they will have to use U.S. military infrastructure, making the U.S. an accomplice in the assault. Obama wants the American public to think otherwise. The idea is to make any Iranian retaliation against U.S. assets appear to be an unprovoked attack on the United States. This will allow Obama to conduct a full scale war against Iran, with the full support of the American sheeple. Even more worrying is the fact that America’s less than enthusiastic NATO allies won’t have any choice but join the war against Iran.

The Iranians are in a lose-lose situation. They cannot really defend themselves effectively without attacking U.S. assets in the region providing military support for the Zionist assault. If they do, they will trigger a World War. The only way to stop this madness is a successful viral campaign helping the American public to see through the charade and call Obama bluff.

Convenient Myths And Liberal Imperialism

By John Pilger – Information Clearing House  Sept 5, 2012

What is the world’s most powerful and violent “ism”? The question will summon the usual demons, such as Islamism, now that communism has left the stage. The answer, wrote Harold Pinter, is only “superficially recorded, let alone documented, let alone acknowledged,” because only one ideology claims to be non-ideological, neither left nor right, the supreme way. This is liberalism.

In his 1859 essay, On Liberty, to which modern liberals pay homage, John Stuart Mills described the power of empire. “Despotism is a legitimate mode of government in dealing with barbarians,” he wrote, “provided the end be their  improvement, and the means justified by actually effecting that end.” The “barbarians” were large sections of humanity of whom “implicit obedience” was required. The French liberal Alexis de Tocqueville also believed in the bloody conquest of others as “a triumph of Christianity and civilization” that was “clearly pre-ordained in the sight of Providence.”

“It’s a nice and convenient myth that liberals are the peacemakers and conservatives the warmongers,” wrote the historian Hywel Williams in 2001, “but the imperialism of the liberal way may be more dangerous because of its open-ended nature — its conviction that it represents a superior form of life [while denying its] self-righteous fanaticism.” He had in mind a speech by Tony Blair in the aftermath of the 11 September 2001 attacks, in which Blair promised to “reorder this world around us” according to his “moral values.” At least a million dead later – in Iraq alone – this tribune of liberalism is today employed by the tyranny in Kazakhstan for a fee of $13 million.

Blair’s crimes are not unusual. Since 1945, more than a third of the membership of the United Nations – 69 countries – have suffered some or all of the following. They have been invaded, their governments overthrown, their popular movements suppressed, their elections subverted and their people bombed. The historian Mark Curtis estimates the death toll in the millions.

This has been principally the project of the liberal flame carrier, the United States, whose celebrated “progressive” president John F. Kennedy, according to new research, authorized the bombing of Moscow during the Cuban crisis in 1962. “If we have to use force,” said Madeleine Albright, US Secretary of State in the liberal administration of Bill Clinton, “it is because we are America. We are the indispensable nation. We stand tall. We see further into the future.”  How succinctly she defines modern, violent liberalism.

Syria is an enduring project. This is a leaked joint US-UK intelligence file:

“In order to facilitate the action of liberative [sic] forces … a special effort should bemade to eliminate certain key individuals [and] to proceed with internal disturbances in Syria. CIA is prepared, and SIS (MI6) will attempt to mount minor sabotage and coup demain [sic] incidents within Syria, working through contacts with individuals … a necessary degree of fear … frontier and [staged] border clashes [will] provide a pretext for intervention … the CIA and SIS should use … capabilities in both psychological and action fields to augment tension.”

That was written in 1957, though it might have come from a recent report by the Royal United Services Institute, A Collision Course for Intervention , whose author says, with witty understatement:  “It is highly likely that some western special forces and intelligence sources have been in Syria for a considerable time.”

And so a world war beckons in Syria and Iran. Israel, the west’s violent creation, already occupies part of Syria. This is not news. Israelis take picnics to the Golan Heights to watch a civil war directed by western intelligence from Turkey and bankrolled and armed by the medievalists in Saudi Arabia.

Having stolen most of Palestine, viciously attacked Lebanon, starved the people of Gaza and built an illegal nuclear arsenal, Israel is exempt from the current disinformation campaign aimed at installing western clients in Damascus and Tehran.

On 21 July, the Guardian commentator Jonathan Freedland warned that “the west will not stay aloof for long … Both the US and Israel are also anxiously eyeing Syria’s supply of chemical and nuclear weapons, now said to be unlocked and on the move, fearing Assad may choose to go down in a lethal blaze of glory.” Said by whom? The usual “experts” and spooks.

Like them, Freedland desires “a revolution without the full-blown intervention required in Libya.” According to its own records, NATO launched 9,700 “strike sorties” against Libya, of which more than a third were civilian targets. These included missiles with uranium warheads. Look at the photographs of the rubble of Misurata and Sirte, and the mass graves identified by the Red Cross. Read the UICEF report on the children killed, “most [of them] under the age of ten.” Like the destruction of the Iraqi city of Fallujah, these crimes were not news, because news as disinformation is a fully integrated weapon of attack.

On 14 July, the Libyan Observatory for Human Rights, which opposed the Gaddafi regime, reported, “The human rights situation in Libya now is far worse than under Gaddafi.” Ethnic cleansing is rife. According to Amnesty, the entire population of the town of Tawargha “are still barred from returning [while] their homes have been looted and burned down.”

In Anglo-American scholarship, influential theorists known as “liberal realists” have long taught that liberal imperialists – a term they never use – are the world’s peacebrokers and crisis managers, rather than the cause of a crisis. They have taken the humanity out of the study of nations and congealed it with a jargon that serves warmongering power. Laying out whole nations for autopsy, they have identified “failed states” (nations difficult to exploit) and “rogue states” (nations resistant to western dominance).

Whether or not the regime is a democracy or dictatorship is irrelevant. The same is true of those contracted to do the dirty work. In the Middle East, from Nasser’s time to Syria today, western liberalism’s collaborators have been Islamists, lately al-Qaeda, while long discredited notions of democracy and human rights serve as rhetorical cover for conquest, “as required. Plus ca change…

U.S. Attack on Iran Would Take Hundreds of Planes, Ships, and Missiles

Noah Shachtman – Wired.com September 7, 2012

Should the U.S. actually take Benjamin Netanyahu’s advice and attack Iran, don’t expect a few sorties flown by a couple of fighter jocks. Setting back Iran’s nuclear efforts will need to be an all-out effort, with squadrons of bombers and fighter jets, teams of commandos, rings of interceptor missiles and whole Navy carrier strike groups — plus enough drones, surveillance gear, tanker aircraft and logistical support to make such a massive mission go. And all of it, at best, would buy the U.S. and Israel another decade of a nuke-free Iran.

There’s been a lot of loose talk and leaked tales about what an attack on Iran might ultimately entail. Anthony Cordesman, one of Washington’s best-connected defense analysts, has put together a remarkably detailed inventory of what it would take to strike Iran (.pdf), cataloging everything from the number of bombers required to the types of bombs they ought to carry. He analyzes both Israeli and American strikes, both nuclear and not. He examines possible Iranian counterattacks, and ways to neutralize them. It leads Cordesman to a two-fold conclusion:

* “Israel does not have the capability to carry out preventive strikes that could do more than delay Iran’s efforts for a year or two.” Despite the increasingly sharp rhetoric coming out of Jerusalem, the idea of Israel launching a unilateral attack is almost as bad as allowing Tehran to continue its nuclear work unchallenged.  It would invite wave after wave of Iranian counterattacks — by missile, terrorist, and a boat — jeopardizing countries throughout the region. It would wreak havoc with the world’s oil supply. And that’s if Israel even manages to pull the mission off — something Cordesman very much doubts.

* The U.S. might be able to delay the nuclear program for up to 10 years. But to do so, it’ll be an enormous undertaking. The initial air strike alone will “require a large force allocation [including] the main bomber force, the suppression of enemy air defense system[s], escort aircraft for the protection of the bombers, electronic warfare for detection and jamming purposes, fighter sweep and combat air patrol to counter any air retaliation by Iran.”

But the first attack might actually be the easy part, writes Cordesman, an expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

At the same time, the U.S. has to keep Iran from blocking the ultra-important Strait of Hormuz, the 21-mile-wide waterway through which flows around 20 percent of the world’s oil and liquid natural gas supplies. And America has to protect its energy-producing allies in the Persian Gulf, or else there will be no oil or gas to send through the Strait.

That will be no mean task, Cordesman writes: “Iran can cherry pick its targets in an effort to pressure and intimidate the U.S. and Southern Gulf states. It can use long-range conventionally armed missiles or drones against large military or urban targets as terror weapons. It can attack sporadically and unpredictably in a war of attrition or attempt to ‘swarm’ U.S. and Gulf naval forces.”

Some of this defensive work has already begun. To keep the Strait open, the U.S. has kept up a steady patrol of aircraft carriers and stationed gunboats, minesweepers, and robot subs in nearby Bahrain. To spot Iran’s missiles — many of which can hit their targets in as little as four minutes — the U.S. is building a next-generation X-band radar station in Qatar. To knock those short- and medium-range ballistic missiles out of the sky, America has sold billions of dollars’ worth of Patriot and Terminal High Altitude Air Defense interceptors to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. Those anti-missiles will be augmented by U.S. Navy cruisers and destroyers equipped with Aegis ballistic-missile defense systems — one of the most-proven components in the American interceptor stockpile.

But to make sure Tehran’s missiles don’t hit Riyadh or Kuwait City, the U.S. will have to take out Iran’s eight ballistic-missile bases and 15 missile production facilities, and 22 launch facilities if a preemptive strike is ever ordered. America will “need to destroy as many missile launchers as possible … in order to reduce number of incoming warheads,” Cordesman writes. Each target will require two aircraft each — either carrier-launched F/A-18s or F-15Es and F-16Cs flying from nearby air bases — for a total of 90 jets. Auxiliary targets could include Iran’s refineries, its power grid, its military bases, and its roads and bridges.

American jets and fighters will be pretty much free to fire at will — the Iranian air force is a joke, and its air defense systems don’t have the sensors or the networking to seriously threaten U.S. jets. Still, those air defenses and enemy fighters will have to be taken out before they manage to get off a lucky shot.

Drones will be deployed for further intelligence, “deception, jamming, harassment, or destruction of enemy forces and air defense systems.” Special operations forces will conduct “direct action missions, special reconnaissance, and provide terminal guidance for attacks against valuable enemy targets.” Somehow, attacks from Iran’s terrorist allies — including Hamas and Hezbollah — will have to be blunted, as well.

And then, of course, there’s the main attack.

Destroying each of Iran’s five nuclear facilities will require a pair of B-2 bombers flying out of Diego Garcia. Every plane will carry two of the U.S. military next-gen, king-sized bunker-busters, the 30,000-pound GBU-57 Massive Ordinance Penetrator. The “GPS-guided weapon contain[s] more than 5,300 pounds of conventional explosives inside a 20.5 foot-long bomb body of hardened steel. It is designed to penetrate dirt, rock and reinforced concrete to reach enemy bunker or tunnel installations,” writes Cordesman, who believes such bomb can set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions for years.

Israel might — might — be able to pull off a similar strike, but only just barely. It’ll require using a quarter of the Israel Air Force’s fighters, and all of its tanker planes, leaving no aircraft for all these other secondary targets. The jets will have to hug the Syrian-Turkish border before flying over both Iraq and Iran. And that is not exactly friendly territory. “The number of aircraft required, refueling along the way and getting to the targets without being detected or intercepted would be complex and high risk and would lack any assurances that the overall  mission will have a high success rate,” Cordesman writes.

And even if the reactors are hit, the ”Iranian retaliation will have a devastating regional consequences,” he adds. You don’t even want to know what the Middle East would look like the day after Israel attempts a nuclear strike on Iran.

Which leaves the American attack option. It may be technically possible. “It’s clear that if the United States did it we would have a hell of a bigger impact,” Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said in the spring. Cordesman would rather see negotiations instead: “The brief shows just how dangerous any war in the Gulf could be to the world’s economy.” Some politicians may be calling for a preemptive strike on Iran. There’s a reason military planners are so wary.
